TechArt, in collaboration with TechArt TYO
Office and Barrycon Productions LLC, has organized the first
InDesign Conference in Tokyo. The conference will be held September
12-13, at Gate City Ohsaki in Shinagawa, Tokyo. The conference
chairman is Mr. Yuichi Inomata, Dept Head of Graphic Design
at Tama Art University, and founder of MdN Magazine. Speakers
include TechArt president, Diane Burns, InDesign guru David
Blatner, and many prominent industry leaders from Japan.

Diane Burns, president of TechArt, will offer a new course, Migrating from QuarkXPress to InDesign, as part of UC Berkeley Extension's Graphics Design Program. The course is geared to graphics professionals who are making the transition from QuarkXPress to InDesign as their layout tool of choice. With her extensive background in the design and publishing field, Ms. Burns brings practical insights to the application's features and how to best utilize them in a professional environment. This 15-hour course will be held over 2 weekends in July at UC's computer lab in downtown San Francisco.
